Laptop and pad hybrids are becoming more and more common, especially when the design intent and the legacy of the former is being questioned more and more after the advent of tablets. Lenovo is hoping to combine these categories with its new hybrid, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga has some really nice features and the price is also very reasonable. If you are looking to buy a cheap hybrid laptop, go through our Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga review and you will understand how good the IdeaPad really is.

Let us not forget the prime targets are consumers on a budget. However, Lenovo has improved its hybrid tech over the year with the new Yoga. The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga is almost half as heavier as the 11s. The screen movement covers 360 degrees so you can choose the setting you want your laptop to be in. You can use it as a laptop, a tablet and in the tent position too. It is at par with the best of the rest.

The basic design is slick and improved. The panel moves easily and the machine holds firm no matter the orientation of it. The machine’s look is decent too with the lid clad in dark and the interior uses silver plastic. The bezel however is large around the corners so it can look a bit awkward.  The hinge is robust and the wrist quality is good. It weighs 1.35 Kg and is 17.2 mm thick which is great for an ultrabook. In our Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga review we noticed that it is somewhat better and more portable than the Sony and the Toshiba’s versions.  These features make the Yoga 211 a good act and a compact gadget overall.review-lenovo-idea-pad-yoga

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga Specs

The Yoga comes up with an Intel Pentium N3520 2.17 GHz processor and Intel HD graphics, which is pretty much the standard. 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive, micro- HDMI slot, 2 USB ports and an SD card slot. Nothing phenomenal here and the balance is just fine. The specs are a good mix between laptop and tablet. While doing our Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga review we did not expect this thing to be a gaming laptop afterall.

Performance

Due to the budgetary price, the screen isn’t the best you can find. The low price of the yoga is literally given away by it. The 1366 X 768 resolution is a mid-range figure comparable to the likes of Toshiba. The Sony Vaio has a much better full HD screen and even Yoga pro 2 has better screen but with the price tag, it is appreciable.

Yoga beats out the Toshiba and the Sony counterparts in some basic examination. The brightness is more than both of them and contrast is much better handled. This helps dealing with bright outdoor lighting. The 6975 K color scheme color temperature is good and is better than its counterparts. Although the gamut is better than Toshiba, the effect misses some colors.

Viewing angles are good although it experiences a little darkening when tilted towards the desk. The speakers and the sound quality are satisfactory and overall one of the better experiences.

Verdict on The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga

The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 11 at under $500 is one of the best hybrids pound for pound thing we have seen. The specs are balanced and designed for this level. A worthy buy indeed. We hope that our Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga review has helped you!
