  • Reflective and glossy screen
  • Reasonable price
  • Decent battery life

Cons of LG G Pad 8.3

  • Location of speakers on the device is not perfect

The Built and Screen of the LG G Pad 8.3

The LG G 8.3 incorporates perfect equilibrium between the screen size and device’s portability.

Primarily constructed from plastic and covered with aluminium from the back, this product offers a two-tone look to the general audience. The absence of unnecessary cracks gives more appeal and attraction to the device. Moreover, with a weight of 338g and a thickness of 8.3mm, LG G 8.3 easily surpasses its market competitor, the iPad mini in terms of portability.

The placement of buttons and ports in LG G 8.3 is perfect in most cases. Below is an account of some ports and buttons on the device we thought don't fit right in our  LG G Pad 8.3 review:

  • Power/lock key and a volume rocker - right side (should been at a slightly high position)
  • Micro-USB port and microphone - the bottom
  • Standard 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, and Infrared port – top

The screen is display is remarkable and competitive.

The 8.3in IPS reflective screen is comparatively a better choice for visual media as the aspect ratio of 16:10 perfectly suffices for this purpose and also eradicates the black bar effect. Moreover, the resolution of 1920x1200 pixels (273ppi) places it way ahead of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 but behind iPad mini.

LG G Pad 8.3 Software Review

The 4.2 Jelly Bean version of Google's Android fuses more features with its operating system.

Some of the features are:

  • Knock on – this feature is designed to instantly lock the screen by double-tapping on it (it doesn’t work fine)
  • QSlide apps – assists in multitasking
  • QuickMemo – this feature is employed to write on screenshots
  • QPair – by means of Bluetooth this feature can be used to connect the tablet with any Android smartphone

 LG G Pad 8.3 Processor

An appreciable 1.7 GHz, quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor combined with 2 GB of RAM compensates for the extra modules of the overwhelming software and doesn’t let the device slow down. The gaming experience was largely okay but at times, there were frame rate issues with graphically high end games.

Drawbacks of  LG G Pad 8.3

Regardless of the fact that LG G 8.3 is quite competitive, there are some features which are not as good as anticipated. In this regard, it should be noted that this LG G 8.3 doesn’t support 3g or 4g and thus it disappoints quite a circle of audience. Moreover, the rear-face camera (5 megapixel) and front-face camera (1.3 mega-pixel) don’t seem to be existing even in the competition against the normal smartphones in this domain. Hopefully you have found this  LG G Pad 8.3 review helpful.

  1. I found the design is perfect but for me it is too weak even not supporting 3G. LG has their own software so its not so bad idea to try them out.
